How to solve a jumble
Type the letters of one clue word. This page shows only words that use every letter.
Mark the letters the puzzle circles in each answer.
Type the circled letters in the box. Turn off Only words that use every tile if the final answer is shorter than your letters.
Solving jumbles without a tool
- Start with the clue picture or sentence. It tells you the topic, which cuts the options fast.
- Find the ending. ING, ED, ER and LY come off first, then you unscramble a shorter word.
- Use the final answer to check. If the circled letters spell nothing, one clue answer is probably the wrong anagram.
- Common words only. Jumble answers are everyday words, which is why this page starts with the common list.

Questions
How do I solve a word jumble?
Type the scrambled letters of one clue word into the box. The solver lists the everyday words that use every letter. Write the answer under the clue, copy the circled letters, and repeat for each clue. The circled letters make the final answer.
Why does this show only words with all my letters?
A jumble clue is always one word that uses every scrambled letter. Showing only those words keeps the list short. Switch off Only words that use every tile under More filters if you want shorter words too.
What if the jumble has two answers?
Some letter sets make more than one word, such as STALE, STEAL, LEAST and SLATE. Use the clue picture or sentence to choose, or check the circled letters against the final puzzle.
How do I solve the final answer?
Put the circled letters in the box. The final answer is often a phrase, so solve it one word at a time. If you know the word lengths, set Shortest word and Longest word to match.
Does it work for other scramble puzzles?
Yes. Any puzzle that scrambles one word works. For puzzles where you can leave letters out, use the main word unscrambler.
Is this connected to any newspaper?
No. This is an independent tool, and it solves any scrambled-letter puzzle.
