Crossword Saga: 70 mini crossword levels
Crossword Saga is a map of mini crosswords you play one after another. Every level is a real 5x5 crossword with plain clues. Finish a level to earn one to three stars, then walk on to the next one.
It is for anyone who likes the daily MINI and wants more to solve. The levels start very easy and get harder as you climb. Some levels add frozen letters, a locked square or a theme, so they do not all play the same. It is free, with no signup.
How to play
- Tap the glowing level on the map and press Play. Tap a square, then type with the on-screen keys or a real keyboard.
- You get one star for solving the level, two for solving it inside the time shown, and three for beating the time without using a booster.
- Stars open new areas. A foggy area on the map tells you how many more stars it needs.
- Frozen letters are ice squares. You cannot type in them, but they thaw and show their letter as soon as you solve the word around them.
- A locked square opens once the answer named on the lock is solved. The other squares are never blocked.
- Boosters help when you are stuck: Reveal fills in a square, Check marks wrong letters in a word, Swap shows an easier clue. You earn them by playing. They are never for sale.
Tips
- Start with the short answers. They give you letters for the long ones.
- On a frozen level, solve the crossing words first. The ice thaws when the rest of its word is right.
- Save boosters for the harder areas. You earn a Reveal for every three-star level.
- You can replay any level to get more stars. Only the best result counts.

Is Crossword Saga free?
Yes. Every level is free. There is nothing to buy, and the boosters cannot be bought. You earn them by playing.
How many levels are there?
There are 70 levels in seven areas of ten. More are added over time.
How do I earn stars?
One star for solving, two for solving inside the level time, three for solving inside the time with no boosters.
What are frozen letters?
Ice squares you cannot type in. They thaw and show their letter when every other square of a word through them is right.
What is the locked square?
A square that cannot be filled until you solve the entry named on its lock, for example 4 Across. Then it opens.
