Sideline is a free football coaching game. You get a late-game situation, pick the formation and the play, and manage the clock and the fourth-down decisions. After every call you get a grade based on how much it changed your chance of winning, not on whether the play happened to work. It runs in your browser on phones and computers. No account, no download.
Sideline is an unofficial fan game. It is not affiliated with the NFL or any team, and it uses no logos.
How to play
Tap Start drive to open today's daily drive. Everyone gets the same situation on the same day.
Read the score, clock, down and distance, and the look the defense shows before the snap.
Pick a formation, then a play, then tap Call. The clock bar above the plays has Timeout, Spike, Kneel and the Normal, Hurry and Milk tempo chips.
Watch the play. Then read your grade, tap Details for the reason and the best call, and keep calling until the drive ends.
At the end you get a drive grade and a card you can share.
Rules
Each play is played out by a simulation, so a good call can still fail. Your grade is about the decision, measured by win probability, not the result.
There is a play clock on every snap. Letting it run out is a delay of game on the harder levels.
There are four levels: Rookie, Pro, All-Pro and Legend. Harder levels give less help and grade more strictly.
Besides the daily drive you can play practice drives, Survivor (hard spots, one call each) and a Season.
Your streak, stats and settings are saved in your browser only. Free to play, with no purchases, ads or prizes.
Tips
Check the clock and your timeouts before every call. Late in a half they matter as much as the play.
On fourth down, compare the win chances shown on Rookie before you decide.
The defense shows you a front and a coverage. Pick a play family that works against it.
Do not judge a call by the last result. Tap Details to see why it got that grade.
