25 Days of Minis: a holiday mini crossword calendar
25 Days of Minis is an advent calendar made of small crosswords. There are 25 doors. One opens each day from December 1 to December 25, and behind each door is a real 5x5 mini crossword with a winter or holiday theme.
It is for anyone who likes a short daily puzzle in December. A door takes about two to four minutes. The clues are plain and fair, and it is free, with no signup. The calendar opens on December 1, so for now you can look at it and come back.
How to play
- Tap the door for today. It opens and the puzzle starts. Doors for later days stay closed and show the date they open.
- Tap a square, then type the answer to the clue. Tap the same square again to switch between across and down.
- Check and Reveal help if you get stuck. Each costs stars. When the grid is done you get a card you can share, and it shows no letters.
- Doors open at midnight Eastern time (New York). If you miss a day, its door stays open, so you can catch up any time.
Tips
- The holiday words are easy to spot. Start with answers about snow, gifts, food and songs.
- Look at how many letters each answer has. A five-letter holiday word is often right.
- Play the door for today first, then go back and open any you missed.
