Tidewild is a free world builder you grow over days. You place tiles on a tiny island, and each tile ripples into something new: a forest beside a pond becomes a creek, a boulder beside a creek becomes a waterfall. It runs in your browser on phones and computers. No account, no download.
How to play
Pick a tile from the tray and tap the island, or the dashed sea edge to make new land.
Watch the ripple: neighbouring tiles that now fit a recipe change, and the change can chain.
Glowing cells show where a placement will land: gold means something you have not discovered yet.
Spend dew (the currency) on more tiles. Every tile earns dew, even while you are away.
Tap a creature once a day to greet it and build a friendship.
Come back tomorrow: after a few hours away the wind plants new tiles, and a new daily event and three quests wait.
Rules
There are 44 kinds of tile across three biomes: Meadow, Coast and Highlands. Coast opens at island level 2 and Highlands at level 3.
Dew trickles in from every tile. Away time pays up to 8 hours, and a Lighthouse or Observatory adds more.
Island level decides how much land you can fill. Each level has a charter of goals and a boon.
Three quests each day, claimed automatically; finish all three for the daily chest. A seven-day streak grows the Moonbloom Tree, and one missed day is forgiven.
Creatures arrive when you make their home tile. Greet each once a day for dew and friendship; friends raise your charm.
Your island is saved in your browser. Nothing to sign up for.
Tips
Plant forests together first and you can get an Elderwood instead of a plain creek.
Tap any tile for a card: its income, its age, and a one-tap tend that makes every tile of that kind earn more.
Gift tiles and a shared daily tree goal need a connection. If it is down, the game keeps going.
A worked example: your first creek
Place a Pond next to a Forest. The Forest ripples into a Creek, and a Creek can soon bring an Otter to live on it.
Now put a Boulder beside that Creek and it ripples again into a Waterfall.
A common mistake
Spending all your dew on single tiles. Look for the glowing cells first: one well-placed tile can ripple several neighbours.
How it differs
You do not match or clear anything. The order you place tiles in decides what they become, and the island keeps growing and earning while you are away.
